The White Woman of Silver Run is said to stand on the tracks in a pale gown, forcing engineers to stop before vanishing. In a well-known version, a skeptical engineer drives straight at her; witnesses farther along the line then see her riding the locomotive’s cowcatcher. The story belongs to Tunnel 19 on today’s North Bend Rail Trail.
