The Story
Fairlawn's most misleading apparition is said to look like a museum guide in period dress until visitors notice the chill around her. HauntedPlaces.org also records children seen or heard near the former basement pool. Those stories echo the mansion's later use as a children's home, without identifying any particular child.
The Hauntings
Fairlawn's most misleading apparition is said to look like a museum guide in period dress until visitors notice the chill around her. HauntedPlaces.org also records children seen or heard near the former basement pool. Those stories echo the mansion's later use as a children's home, without identifying any particular child. A murdered-servant explanation appears in folklore but was not independently verified and is omitted from history.
A sense of place.
