Alice Flagg Grave — All Saints Cemetery
Pawleys Island, South Carolina, United States
Cemetery · local-legend
The Story
A young woman named Alice Flagg is the heart of a coastal South Carolina legend of forbidden love, a lost ring and a restless figure in white.
The Hauntings
According to the best-known telling, Alice was kept from the man she loved because he was considered beneath the family’s social standing. She died while separated from him, and a simple stone bearing her first name became the focus of a story about a spirit still searching for love. Visitors sometimes leave tokens, and some say Alice can be glimpsed among All Saints’ graves or near the Flagg family home. The grave tradition is distinct from any claim that every romantic detail of the story survives in records.

Plan Your Visit
The churchyard remains a place of burial and worship, not a public ritual attraction. A current gate schedule was not confirmed. Respect services and signage, and do not leave items or trace circuits around memorials where this would disturb graves.
