The Story

Del Rio’s own account describes a long-haired woman in a dark Victorian dress seen on the property and traditionally called Hattie Haymond. The winery also corrects a revealing mistake: the old portrait long displayed as Hattie actually depicts her sister Fidelia. The apparition’s identity remains part of the lore, even as the portrait’s identity has been corrected.
