Aurora Cemetery, Witch’s Grave

The Story

Aurora’s graveyard legend labels a woman a witch executed by her neighbors. Haunted Places counters that the grave belongs to Susan Gavan, who died of illness and was buried with her baby, making this a legend attached to an ordinary family grave.

The Hauntings

Aurora’s graveyard legend labels a woman a witch executed by her neighbors. Haunted Places counters that the grave belongs to Susan Gavan, who died of illness and was buried with her baby, making this a legend attached to an ordinary family grave. Not an assertion of historical witchcraft or execution; treat burial respectfully.

A sense of place.
