The Story

UND’s tunnel legend describes the upper half of a young woman appearing near West Hall, accompanied by televisions or lights behaving strangely. The explanation that a student froze outside a locked dorm is disputed in witness comments. It remains a recognizable campus story rather than a verified death account. UND confirms original 1964 West Hall demolished in 2021; replacement opened in 2023. Historical haunting is attached to the original site/tunnel tradition, not asserted to be witnessed in the new building.
