The Story
The Lost Bridge road story pairs inexplicable car trouble with a particularly odd visitor: drivers are said to see a hoofed man, or another figure standing beside the road, after their vehicles stop working. Library of Congress records the original 1930 bridge demolished in 1994. The legend belongs to the crossing; no new sightings are asserted for the replacement. Do not stop in traffic or enter restricted riverbanks.
