The Story
A chauffeur’s ghost is said to linger at the former Houghton family mansion. Haunted Places links his presence to a fatal motoring accident and his subsequent death, a tragic sequence at the heart of the property’s ghost story. Supernatural reports are folklore, not established facts. Historical explanations have not been independently corroborated. The source’s identification of accident victims is unreliable and was not repeated; verify against historical sources before adding family names or dates.
