The Story
HauntedPlaces.org records a local belief that spirits of Idaho City's Gold Rush dead remain around Boot Hill. The cemetery's many unidentified burials figure prominently in the story: those without known names or marked resting places are imagined as lingering among the graves. The published account describes a collective haunting rather than a single named apparition.
