The Story
School lore gives Mr. Bancroft a continuing supervisory role after death. The Delaware Public Archives records stories of red eyes appearing in a second-floor bathroom mirror when the lights go out. A further Friday-the-thirteenth tale describes answering knocks from within the wall, as though the school’s namesake still has unfinished business with its students.
