The Story
Accounts at the Capitol place apparitions in the balcony and dressing rooms, with unexplained footfalls, voices and an infant’s crying. Haunted Places repeats two proposed origin stories: an actress killed by a jealous lover and an actor fatally injured in a staged swordfight. The same source notes that neither death story has been documented. Willimantic locality within Windham; historical venue status requires checking.
