The Story
Haunted Places recounts several Brook Forest Inn legends, including a chambermaid called Jessica and a stable hand said to haunt the upper floor. It also describes a child's running footsteps on the third floor and sudden cold air on the stairs. The violent backstories attached to named spirits are uncorroborated folklore, not established biographical facts.
