The Story
Michael in Room 218, Theodora near Room 419 and nurses in the corridors populate the Crescent’s ghost stories. Official tours lead through a hotel whose past includes a college and hospital.
The Hauntings
The hotel names Michael and Theodora among its resident spirits. Collected accounts connect Room 218 with a worker said to have fallen during construction; Room 419 belongs to a female presence called Theodora. Other stories place nurses, sometimes pushing wheelchairs, in the halls. The haunting is not confined to bedrooms. The former morgue is part of the operator’s ghost-tour route and a focus of its guided Midnight Investigation. It offers a distinct setting from the busy guest rooms above, without making every part of the hotel an investigation space.
The History
Dating to 1886, the Crescent has served as a hotel, a women’s educational institution and a hospital. It now operates as a hotel and spa in Eureka Springs.
A sense of place.
