The Story
The Red Lady is Huntingdon College's best-known campus legend. The story tells of a lonely student called Martha, closely associated with red clothing and furnishings, whose presence was said to remain after her death. Later accounts describe a woman or a red glow around Pratt Hall. Versions differ, but the colour red remains the tale's defining image. Its significance is the long-running campus tradition, rather than a promise that a specific room will produce an encounter.
