The Story
At a carefully preserved Huntsville house, stories of Anne Lowry include flickering lights and a figure glimpsed in the old rooms.
The Hauntings
The local visitors bureau names Anne Lowry among the spirits associated with the home and describes reports of a fully formed figure in the kitchen. Other accounts involve electrical lights behaving strangely. Unlike a roadside ghost story that cannot be visited, this house has a public heritage mission and periodically hosts paranormal-themed programs. The reports belong to the home’s current storytelling tradition; no specific apparition can be identified from the house’s history alone.
The History
The home was built around 1850 for the Lowry family and survives as a protected historic place representing nineteenth-century Huntsville.
A sense of place.
