The Story
The remaining columns at Forks of Cypress give a visible setting to stories of voices where a large plantation house once stood. Accounts describe singing from between the pillars and a woman's figure moving across the grounds. The mansion burned in 1966, leaving ruins around which its later ghost stories continue to circulate. The reported sounds and apparition belong to its later folklore; they do not establish the identity of a spirit.
