The Story
Before Consolation Church burned in 2015, local stories described phantom soldiers, children, wailing cries and red-eyed animals around the abandoned building. Some tellings added a banshee or a preacher who appeared to visitors and vanished. The neighboring cemetery survived the fire. These stories now concern a former church site, not an intact building waiting to be explored. Different accounts accumulate many kinds of supernatural claims, and they should be presented as local legend rather than evidence of rituals or a proven tragedy.
