The University of Alaska Anchorage’s Wendy Williamson Auditorium has several recurring ghost stories rather than a single agreed resident. A woman in white, mischievous activity around the lighting booth and an alarming male presence near stairs appear in paranormal-directory accounts. These stories attach to a specific performance building, affectionately called the Wendy.
The reported physical aggression belongs to the folklore and is not established as an actual hazard caused by a spirit. Ordinary backstage, stairway and equipment safety rules still apply, and attendance at a performance does not authorize an investigation.
A particular guest-room story distinguishes the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel from Alaska’s other haunted-hotel traditions. Haunted Places associates Room 277 with the figure of a large man and describes reports of pressure on a bed, a touch on a shoulder and a hand moving along the carpet. These are collected anecdotal claims, not a verified account of who occupied the room or what caused the sensations.
